For the Typography and the Web: The Art of Type and Readability blog, I chose a blue theme with gray paired with a relevant photo of a website and an infographic to catch the viewer’s attention. The page content text is black on a white background. The overall design included good contrast between light and dark.
I chose a sans serif font, Lato, which is an excellent choice for the web. I used this font for both the headings and the main body text. Despite being the same typeface, the bold headings contrasted well with the normal paragraph text. I included clear, concise, and scannable information, along with descriptive headings for easy navigation. I also implemented adequate spacing between chunks of text to make the blog easy to read.
